Public sector agencies in WA recognised as the top graduate employers across Australia
Several public sector agencies in Western Australia have been recognised as being the top graduate employers across Australia.
The Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS), inclusive of the Departments of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation (JTSI); and Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD), and the Department of Finance were ranked fifth and thirteen respectively as one of Australia’s Top 75 Graduate Employers.
The Australian Association of Graduate Employers report on the ‘Top Graduate Employers’, which includes both the public and private sector, recognises organisations which provide the most positive experience for their new graduates.
The finalists are determined by the graduates themselves with rankings compiled from graduate surveys responding to 25 different categories, including training and development, quality of work and career progression.
Both the DMIRS Interagency Graduate Program and the Department of Finance’s Graduate Program, recognise the value of a structured program and expose the graduates to as many diverse experiences as possible.
These programs deliver benefits not only to graduates by providing experience, training and networking, but also departments that need to recruit the next generation of public sector leaders who bring with them innovative ideas.
