The Australian Copyright Council offers a range of practical and informative seminars to assist people dealing with content in the digital age. All seminars provide up-to-date information about your rights and responsibilities in relation to copyright law. Our skilled presenters are Australian Copyright Council lawyers. All sessions offer new examples and scenarios to keep you informed and engaged about copyright law.

Government Copyright Overview, 5 Nov, 3:30–5:00pm
In this seminar we discuss the specific copyright framework that applies to Commonwealth, State & Territory government bodies.

Topics include:

  • Identifying when statutory bodies and government corporations will be entitled to rely on the specific copyright provisions for government
  • Copyright exceptions and what you can and can’t do
  • Specific government rules relating to ownership
  • Open licensing

Who this session is for:
People working with copyright materials within or for a government department or agency (Commonwealth, State & Territory only). If you work for a local council, you should attend our ‘General Audience’ seminars.
