Misconduct Resistance Practitioner Forum

Misconduct Resistance Practitioner Forum

Corruption and Crime Commission

Event outline

Managing Misconduct and Complaints Effectively

'Do you know what to do when you are faced with a misconduct matter?'

'Do you know how to conduct an internal investigation?'

Responding effectively to alleged or suspected misconduct or corruption is critical. An effective response may involve prompt reporting to the CCC, Police or other body; a well-conducted internal investigation to ascertain the facts and appropriate disciplinary or other action.

This forum will provide real-world insights on how a medium-sized agency deals with misconduct matters. It will assist agencies to recognise when they need to refer matters to the CCC; give practical advice about conducting an internal investigation and explain what the CCC looks for when monitoring an agency's response.

Speakers:

  • Mick Banaszczyk, Executive Director Corporate Support, Department of Mines and Petroleum
  • Ian Edwards, Director Professional Standards and Conduct Unit, Curtin University
  • Melissa Dove, Corruption Prevention Officer, Corruption and Crime Commission
