Graphic Design Fundamentals
Learn the fundamentals of good design – task analysis, rendering, typography, illustration, layout & colour.
This 3 day course will introduce you to the creative world of visual communication and aims to broaden your understanding of graphic design, equip you with awareness and skills enabling you to be more creative when designing publications.
Class sessions include discussion on the elements of good design, practical design projects on symbols/logos, business cards, letterheads, advertisements, CD covers, posters, labels, packaging and online media. You will receive printed handouts on a wide range of topics. Printed examples will be evaluated in class. Materials for visualising and design layouts will be provided.
Participants will develop skills in design task analysis, rendering, typography, illustration, layout design, the use of colour and lots more.
NOTE: This is not a computer applications training course and participants will not be using computers during the training.
This course is offered as a 3 day course (3 Wednesdays – 9.00am to 3.30pm) or a 6 evenings course (6 Tuesday evenings – 6.00pm – 9.00pm). Please check the Cost information against each date for details.
