Public Sector Commission

Event outline

Networking, morning tea and registration 10.00am to 10.30am - Workshop 10.30am to 11.30am.

SES workshop with Cheryl Chung on Wicked problems and weak signals.

Much of a policy maker’s work is dealing with the pressing issues of the day. Yet, we can see weak signals of emerging policy challenges that might affect the policy-making in the future. In this one hour workshop, participants will be introduced to futures methodology to develop the anticipatory capacity to identify wicked problems early and explore the intended and unintended consequences of emerging policy challenges. By the end of the workshop, participants should reflect on what wicked problems and weak signals might mean for their work as policy-makers today.
