The Public Sector Commission is pleased to invite you to our new workshop - Conflicts of Interests, and gifts and benefits.
The saying “it isn’t wrong or unethical to have a conflict of interest, what is important is that it is identified and appropriately managed” can be found in the Integrity Coordinating Group (ICG) Conflicts of Interest guidelines. The ICG also recognises there cannot be a ‘one size fits all’ approach to conflicts of interest across the public sector.
The workshop is based on the ICG’s Conflicts of Interest guidelines and Gifts, benefits and hospitality – a guide to good practice. You will work through a case study where an offer of a gift creates a conflict of interest for an employee and the public sector agency. What can be done when a simple ‘thank you’ gift for a job well done grows to become an integrity risk for both the employee and the public sector agency.
You will also see how the risk to integrity can be minimised through good management practices. This practical workshop, based on the ICG’s Conflicts of Interest guidelines and Gifts, benefits and hospitality – a guide to good practice, is for public sector Human Resource Practitioners, Managers and people involved in sustaining and maintain integrity in the public sector agency.
The sessions are provided FREE of charge. There are a maximum number of people who can attend each session and places will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
