This is a 10 week course. Participants attend for 2 hours per week.

This course is designed for people wanting to develop word-processing skills using Microsoft Word 2010 application. This course covers a range of topics including entering and editing text, formatting, editing tools, page layout, tables, indenting, form letters, Clip Art, WordArt and drawing tools and managing documents.

  • Creating a new document and saving

  • Adding a Ruler
  • Inserting and editing text
  • Spell checking

Editing, text selection, fonts

  • Selecting text
  • Undo, Redo, Print Preview
  • Font - sizes and style
  • Quick Access toolbar

Font effects

  • Using the Mini toolbar, ribbon, dialogue box, keyboard shortcuts
  • Text Alignment – left, right, centre and justified
  • Format Painter, highlighter, changing case, inserting symbols, character spacing

Borders - text

Cut, Copy and Paste, Find and Replace

  • Cut, Copy and Paste

  • Find and Replace – improving productivity
  • Thesaurus – using alternative words

Indents and Spacing

  • Indenting
